You can find an outstanding camping experience whether you’re interested in exploring slot canyons, fly fishing, hiking, bicycling, mountaineering, ATV riding, or simply enjoying a campfire beneath the stars. More than 300 Utah camping sites are available in the state, including those run by national parks, state parks, the USDA Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management. With so much open area to explore, deciding where to go might be difficult.
Visitors can camp, boat, swim, fish, picnic, ride horses, visit interpretive sections, enjoy nature paths, and play golf. 24. Clear Creek Campground

Clear Creek Campground is a non-fee campground and picnic area composed of 12 individual units and reservations are not required. These Utah camping sites are accessible for a season that varies usually between June through October.
Box Elder Canyon
Utah boondocking locations in Box Elder Campgrounds, located just outside Brigham City in the very north of the state. It is ideal for RV camping for those who don’t want to venture too far away from civilization. It’s run by the Forest Service and provides flush toilets and clean drinking water for a $22 fee. Mantua Reservoir, with its crystal-clear and refreshing water, is also close by, tempting would-be swimmers.
The Wasatch Mountains surround Box Elder Campground, providing numerous Utah hiking possibilities for RV peak-baggers. When you stay here, you’re not far from the city, and Brigham City offers a great assortment of restaurants, bars, and retail outlets if you get tired of the amazing mountain views.
Start with the BLM before deciding where to boondock in Utah. Outside of designated campsites, most BLM properties have free Utah boondocking locations as long as there are no posted restrictions. In a 28-day period, you can stay for up to 14 days; after that, you must go at least 25 miles away to conserve the wilderness.
Thankfully, there are many of lovely free Utah camping sites throughout the Beehive state that need little to no effort. Free Utah camping sites may be less than a mile off the highway depending on your location. You may find free Utah boondocking locations near you for last-minute camping on public lands where you can camp for free.
Free Camping at Rest Areas
Utah Rest Areas allow overnight parking but not overnight camping. On-site workers or highway patrol will check for signs indicating you’re utilizing a rest area for leisure purposes to distinguish parking from camping.
