Beautiful Wyoming boondocking locations on free BLM land. There are 4 campsites here, spread far apart, as well as one vault toilet. No other amenities. 14 day limit. Cell service in and out for all 3 carriers, but a cell booster helps, and climbing up the rocks you get good service. Very quiet and beautiful. 5 miles of gravel road to get here. A hidden treasure! Had the whole place to ourselves during the week in mid September.

Passed 2 or 3 vehicles the two hours we were driving south from Devils Tower.

Trout fishing is good here, and wildlife is attracted in quantity by the river. A fascinating quick trip is south on Arminto Road, just west of the campground to Butch Cassidy’s infamous Hole in a Wall, the canyon where he and the Wild Bunch sought refuge.

Follow it for about 7.8 miles to the campground.

We picked the second one, just past the cattle guard – this meant we woke up to cows mooing around the RV. Amazing view for sunset and sunrise.

You don’t need a 4×4 but not for low clearance cars.

I saw a couple of RV’s and trailers down in there but the site sizes are varied.

Cull Watt Park Road leads to an open field with rolling hills and beautiful Grouse Mountain. Wyoming boondocking locations anywhere out in the open field. It’s not too bumpy and at 7000 ft elevation it’s nice and cool in the summer. Open from June 15 to Nov 15. Great spot for fly fishing in Clear Creek. About 3/4 mile hike to the river. Our 29′ class C had no problems with the road driving slow of course.

The 7,900 acre Bud Love Wildlife Habitat Management: Area was established in 1970 to provide crucial winter habitat for big game species. This area is six miles northwest of Buffalo and supports approximately 500 wintering elk and 200 mule deer. A small number of pronghorn also spend time in the area.
