What You Need To Create Chipotle Chicken Breasts in the Air Fryer

An air fryer is the only piece of specialized equipment you’ll need.

Boneless, skinless chicken breasts that are between 6 and 8 ounces in weight are used. They should be sliced in half across the width if they are very large. Additionally, for the best results, pound them to an even thickness before cooking them to provide the finest possible outcome.

Many of these seasonings are likely already on your spice rack. Ingredients include brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, and olive oil.

Powdered chipotle chile peppers and adobe sauce from a can, make up the unique components of this dish. Chipotle chile powder is typically kept in the spice aisle of supermarkets. It’s cheap, versatile, and works well in lots of different dishes.

Canned adobo sauce is sold in a little can under the label Chipotles in Adobo Sauce. Commonly, you’ll find it on the aisle reserved for Mexican food in the supermarket.

Take out the two tablespoons of sauce with a spoon and put the peppers in a bowl for later. If you cannot find any adobo sauce, this is not an issue. A simple substitute using tomato paste, vinegar, and cumin is provided in the “Recipe Notes” section below.

Recipe For Chipotle Chicken Marinade

Chipotle peppers produce a beautiful, rich marinade or sauce that will easily cling to the chicken as it cooks. This is arguably the most appealing aspect of the dish. The ultimate result will still taste great even if the marinating step is skipped.

However, one of my favorite parts of cooking any meat is letting it sit in marinade so that it can soak up all of the delicious flavors. This is why I usually prepare the marinade the night before, allowing the meat to soak in it as it chills in a shallow dish or ziploc bag in the fridge.

Chipotle Peppers

Chipotle peppers are simply smoked jalapenos that have been dehydrated and ground into a powder. Typically, red jalapenos are used to manufacture chipotles since they are the ripest variety; however, green jalapenos can be used as a viable substitute.

Chipotle peppers give a signature smoky flavor and a fair dose of spice to every dish they’re added to. Chipotles, which may add both heat and taste, are frequently used in Tex-Mex and Mexican cuisine. You can find them on the Mexican aisle of your local supermarket or at a Mexican grocery store.

Chipotles in adobo sauce, a red sauce with a sweet and sour flavor, are another popular form of packaging. You may buy these cans at any supermarket.
