Prepare the meat filling.
- a. In a large mixing bowl, combine the beef mince, diced bacon, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, curry powder, shredded cabbage, Chinese five-spice powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- b. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the meat filling marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Prepare the pan-baked buns.

- c. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- d. Place the dough back into the mixing bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the grill or barbecue to medium-high heat.
Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a round bun.
Cook the buns on the preheated grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
While the buns are cooking, shape the meat filling into patties of desired size and thickness.
