Cheesy Biscuit Bean and Beef Casserole Recipe

Equipment

  • casserole Dish
  • Cutting board
  • knife
  • Large Skillet
  • Mixing bowls
  • wooden spoon
  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb ground beef at least 80%
  • 1/2 cup onion chopped
  • 1 can baked beans 21 oz baked beans with bacon and brown sugar sauce, undrained
  • 1 can kidney beans, 16 oz kidney beans, drained, rinsed
  • 1 can great northern beans 15.8 oz great northern beans, drained, rinsed
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 can biscuits 10.2 oz Pillsbury® Grands!® Homestyle refrigerated buttermilk biscuits, separated and each cut into 6 pieces
  • 1/2 cup cheese finely shredded Cheddar

Instructions

  • Prepare a 350°F oven. Use cooking spray to coat an 11x7-inch (2-quart) glass baking dish.
  • Beef and onion should be cooked for 4 to 6 minutes over medium heat in a nonstick 12-inch skillet, with tossing at regular intervals to ensure even cooking; then drained. Throw in some barbecue sauce and some cans of baked beans, kidney beans, and great northern beans. Stirring occasionally, bring to a boil. Pour into a casserole. Sprinkle crumbled biscuits over the hot sauce immediately. Add some grated cheese.
  • Biscuits should be baked for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

Brown the ground beef evenly for better flavor.
Ensure the biscuits are evenly spread for consistent texture.
Use quality cheese for a richer taste.
Let the casserole rest after baking for easier serving.
Consider adding diced vegetables for added nutrition.
Adjust seasoning to taste.
Monitor oven temperature to prevent burning.
