Equipment

Ingredients

  • 8- pound fully cooked bone-in ham
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  • Remove any packaging from the ham and place it in a large roasting pan.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  • Add the honey, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg to the melted butter. Stir until the mixture is smooth.
  • Brush the honey mixture all over the ham, making sure to coat it evenly.
  • Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake it in the preheated oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil from the ham and continue baking it for another 30 minutes, basting it with the pan juices every 10 minutes.
  • When the internal temperature of the ham reaches 140°F (60°C), remove it from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before carving and serving.

Notes

Tips and Tricks

Make sure to let the ham come to room temperature before baking to ensure even cooking.
Basting the ham with the pan juices every 10 minutes helps to keep it moist and flavorful.
If the ham is browning too quickly, cover it loosely with foil to prevent it from burning.
For an extra-crispy glaze, broil the ham for a few minutes at the end of the cooking time.
