6 Argentine Burger with Chimichurri

Equipment

  • Food processor or blender
  • Large mixing bowl

Ingredients

For the Chimichurri Sauce:

  • 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • ¼ cup fresh oregano, chopped
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Burger Patties:

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 8 burger buns

For the Toppings:

  • Sliced tomato
  • Sliced red onion
  • Lettuce leaves

Instructions

  • To make the chimichurri sauce, combine all the ingredients in a food processor and pulse until well blended. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Transfer the sauce to a bowl and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, smoked paprika, ground cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well with your hands.
  • Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and form them into burger patties.
  • Preheat a grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the burger patties on the grill or skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  • To assemble the burgers, place each patty on a bun and top with a generous spoonful of chimichurri sauce. Add sliced tomato, red onion, and lettuce leaves as desired.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Tips and Tricks

Make the chimichurri sauce ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator until ready to use.
To make the burger patties more uniform in size and shape, use a cookie cutter or a ring mold.
Toast the buns before assembling the burgers to add extra flavor and texture.
