This delightful dish combines the natural sweetness of Kumara, also known as sweet potato, with the spicy zing of ginger.

Ingredients

  • 4 large Kumaras sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped into chunks
  • 2 tablespoons grated ginger
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Large pot for boiling the Kumaras
  • Potato masher
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Grater

Method

  1. Place the chopped Kumaras in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until the Kumaras are tender, about 20-25 minutes.
  3. Drain the Kumaras and return them to the pot.
  4. Add the grated ginger, butter, and cream to the pot.
  5. Mash the Kumaras with a potato masher until smooth and creamy.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot.
