I recently tried the New Zealand Cheesy Bacon and Egg Pie recipe, and it's perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 9- inch pie crust
  • 8 slices of bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

  • 9-inch pie dish
  • Mixing bowl

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Trim the edges and prick the bottom with a fork.
  3. Spread the crumbled bacon and grated cheddar cheese evenly over the bottom of the pie crust.
  4. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs together with the heavy cream, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bacon and cheese in the pie crust.
  6. Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
  7. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

You can use store-bought pie crust for a quicker preparation.
