Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tomatoes chopped
  • 2 tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1 cup green beans cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup corn kernels
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. black pepper

Equipment

  • Large skillet or pot for cooking the ground beef and vegetables
  • Cutting board and knife for chopping vegetables
  • Measuring cups and spoons for measuring ingredients
  • Spatula for stirring the ingredients in the skillet
  • Serving dish or bowl for the finished dish

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the onion, green bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, green beans, corn, water, salt, and black pepper to the skillet.
  5. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 20-25 minutes or until the vegetables are tender and the flavors have melded together.
  7. Serve hot with rice or tortillas.
