Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • Vegetable oil for frying

  • Skillet or frying pan
  • Slotted Spoon
  • Paper towel

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the milk to the dry ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into 8 equal parts and roll each part into a ball.
  5. Using a rolling pin, flatten each ball into a 6-inch circle.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  7. Fry each dough circle until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  8. Remove the Fry Jacks from the skillet and drain on a paper towel.
