  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup milk
  • Melted butter

Equipment

Method

For the Meat:
  1. Flour the meat cubes and set aside. In a large Dutch oven, brown the steak on all sides in oil.
  2. In the meantime, in a Dutch oven, dissolve bouillon in boiling water. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and simmer for 1-1/2 to 2 hours, checking frequently, until the meat is cooked. Cook for another 30–45 minutes, or until the potatoes, onions, carrots, and beans are soft.
  3. Cornstarch and water should be combined, then added to the stew to thicken it.
For the Biscuits:
  1. Flour, baking powder, salt, oil, and milk should be mixed together in a big basin to make biscuits.
  2. Add extra milk if necessary to produce a dough that is light and soft enough to stir.
  3. Sprinkle over stew by the tablespoon.
  4. Spread melted butter on top of the biscuits.
  5. Biscuits should be baked, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes.

Notes

Brown the beef for added flavor.
Use fresh and high-quality ingredients.
Adjust seasoning to taste.
Keep the stew at a gentle simmer.
Ensure biscuits are evenly spaced on top.
