Ingredients

  • 2 packages chocolate cookies (such as Oreo or similar)
  • 500 grams Dulce de Leche
  • 500 grams cream cheese
  • 1 cup strong coffee, cooled

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or spatula for mixing
  • 9x13 inch dish or pan for layering the Chocotorta
  • Refrigerator to chill the Chocotorta

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix the Dulce de Leche and cream cheese until well combined.
  2. Add the cooled coffee to the Dulce de Leche mixture and stir until well combined.
  3. In a dish or pan, start layering the chocolate cookies, making sure to cover the entire bottom of the dish.
  4. Spread a layer of the Dulce de Leche mixture on top of the cookies.
  5. Repeat the process, alternating layers of cookies and Dulce de Leche mixture until you reach the top of the dish.
  6. Refrigerate the Chocotorta for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the cookies to soften and the flavors to meld together.

Tips and Tricks

Make sure to cool the coffee before adding it to the Dulce de Leche mixture, as hot coffee can melt the cream cheese and change the consistency of the mixture.
Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to mix the Dulce de Leche and cream cheese together for a smoother consistency.
To make the Chocotorta more visually appealing, crush some extra cookies and sprinkle them on top of the finished product.
