Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef lean
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt divided
  • 14 oz pearl onions
  • 13 oz peas
  • 1 cup carrots diced
  • 3 tablespoons flour white whole-wheat flour plus 1 cup
  • 3 cups beef broth low-sodium
  • ½ cup chopped fresh parsley plus more for garnish
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons butter cold unsalted 1/2 stick, cut into 1/4-inch pieces
  • ½ cup buttermilk

Instructions

  • Before putting it in the oven, brown the ground beef in a large oven-safe skillet.
  • Empty the grease trap.
  • Mix the water and gravy mix (according to the packet's instructions) in a small bowl.
  • Combine the ground beef with garlic, potatoes, peas, and carrots.
  • Add gravy to the dish.
  • For a thicker sauce, stir and boil over medium heat for about 10 minutes.
  • Divide biscuits in half and use as a lid for the pan.
  • Biscuits should be baked for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
