Equipment

  • Medium-sized saucepan
  • wooden spoon
  • 8-inch square baking dish
  • Knife for cutting the fudge

Ingredients

  • 1 can 14 oz condensed milk
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pecans chopped

Instructions

  • Grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
  • In a saucepan, combine the condensed milk and brown sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  • Add the butter and continue stirring until the mixture has thickened and the butter has melted.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and pecans.
  • Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly. Allow it to cool for at least 2 hours.
  • Once cooled, cut the fudge into small bite-sized pieces.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Tips and Tricks

Be sure to stir the mixture constantly to prevent it from burning or sticking to the bottom of the saucepan.
Use a candy thermometer to ensure that the mixture reaches the right temperature (around 240°F) for the perfect consistency.
If the mixture becomes too thick, add a splash of milk or cream to thin it out.
Let the fudge cool completely before cutting it into pieces to prevent it from crumbling.
