Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Frying pan
  • Spatula
  • Paper towels

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbps. dried mixed herbs
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mixed herbs, eggs, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix the ingredients together until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into eight equal-sized patties.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add the patties to the pan and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the rissoles from the pan and drain on paper towels.
  • Serve hot with your choice of sides.

Notes

Tips and Tricks

Make sure to use a lean ground beef to avoid excess grease in the pan.
Use a non-stick frying pan to prevent the rissoles from sticking to the pan.
Make the rissole mixture ahead of time and refrigerate for a few hours to allow the flavors to blend together.
Add a tablespoon of milk to the egg mixture to make the rissoles more tender.
