Equipment

Ingredients

  • 6 mangoes ripe , peeled and pitted and diced
  • 1 cup sugar granulated
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

Start by preparing the mangoes:

  • a. Peel each mango and remove the pit.
  • b. Dice the mango flesh into small pieces.

In a saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, water, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and salt.

  • a. Place the saucepan over medium heat.
  • b. Stir the mixture until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  • c. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the diced mangoes to the saucepan.

  • a. Stir well to coat the mangoes with the sugar syrup.
  • b. Continue to cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the mangoes to soften slightly.

Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature.

  • b. Place the bowl in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 1 hour.

Once the mango mixture is chilled, pour it into a blender or food processor.

Pour the blended mango mixture into an ice cream maker.
