Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 8 slices cheese such as cheddar or American

  • 1 splash olive oil extra virgin
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs dried

  • 2 egg lightly beaten large
  • black cracked pepper to season

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, lightly beaten eggs, dried breadcrumbs, Dijon mustard, sea salt, and black cracked pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  • Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape them into patties.
  • Preheat the grill or barbecue to medium-high heat. Brush the grill grates with a splash of extra virgin olive oil to prevent sticking.
  • Place the beef patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  • While the patties are cooking, place the sliced onions on the grill and cook until they are tender and slightly charred. Remove and set aside.
  • Assemble the burgers by placing a slice of cheese on each patty and allowing it to melt slightly.
  • Slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill.
  • To assemble the burger, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by a beef patty with melted cheese, grilled onions, sliced tomatoes, and dill pickle slices.
  • Add condiments such as ketchup, mustard, or mayonnaise if desired.
  • Place the top bun on the assembled burger.
