Laos Beef Salad Recipe

Equipment

  • A large pot for boiling the beef
  • A bowl for mixing the marinade
  • A skillet or grill pan for cooking the beef
  • A large mixing bowl for combining the salad ingredients
  • A sharp knife for slicing the vegetables
  • A cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs beef sirloin sliced thinly
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 1/2 tbs sticky rice powder. toasted
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. chili flakes
  • 1/2 cup shallots thinly sliced
  • 2 cups cucumber sliced
  • 2 cups tomatoes sliced
  • 1/2 cup mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup kaffir limes leaves finely chopped or minced.
  • 1/2 cup cilantro leaves
  • 1/2 cup green onions sliced
  • 1/4 cup bean sprouts for garnish.

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the sliced beef sirloin, minced garlic, toasted sticky rice powder, salt, and black pepper.

  • c. Sprinkle the toasted sticky rice powder over the beef.
  • d. Season with salt and black pepper.

Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef mixture and cook until the beef is browned and cooked through.

Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine.
