visibility 131 views calendar_month Nov 26, 2023
The town of Dan Sai in the Loei Province of Thailand hosts the yearly Phi Ta Khon Festival, sometimes referred to as the Ghost Festival. It is renowned for its vivid masks, traditional music, and energetic processions, making it one of the most distinctive and colorful celebrations in the nation. Townspeople in the Dan Sai district of the province of Loei celebrate this three-day holiday by dressing up in ghost masks, which is also the literal translation of the festival name. They also enjoy themselves by taking part in parades and celebrations. This is also an opportunity for people to use their creativity. The vivid and bright masks are visually stunning and occasionally rather frightening. These long-nosed, usually white masks are expertly made from dried sticky husks.
